Eastbound & Down

Postby Resilience Records on Fri Nov 05, 2010 1:40 pm

This week i have managed to watch all 2 seasons, with the season 2 finale airing on sunday - fingers crossed i can find it to stream sunday night, or i may explode.

Who else has seen this amazing show? its like a mix between Trailer Park Boys and Alan Partridge but shot exactly like a Cohen brothers movie, and with a similar sense of weirdness a lot of the time too. Its a bit smulchy americano in places, but its generally totally mental and fully hilarious in all the best ways. Its such a perfect mix though of Alan Partridge moments with TPB attitude, its mad, and it works so well. even the sound track is a mix of the 2... its properly madness!

i was given the first season and a half as avi files and streamed the last 2 episodes of season 2. its not that easy to find online to stream, but might be easier to download. i would strongly suggest that you all watch this immediately!

Never heard of this and never watched Trailer Park Boys. Had no idea it was good. Still, Jamie, you're rarey wrong so I will try to give this a try. Is anyone known in it?

oh yeah of course i forgot, old the man himself Will Farrell is in the first series and the main guy is a dude called Danny McBridge.

Caps man, first if all though, you need to watch Trailer Park Boys. its THE BEST thing ever! here is a link to everything they have ever done ever... http://www.tpbcentral.com/ - my advice would be to start watching from series 3 maybe, and then go back and watch the first 2 series later, because the show really establishes itself in series 3 i think, and the first 2 are funnier once you know whats going on a bit... that probably makes me a n00b or a poser or something, but there you go.

A mate of mine told me about this when it came out a year ago or something. I watched a few clips on YouTube. Seemed pretty funny but then I just completely forgot to watch it!

We're gonna do what they say can't be done.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

eastbound and down is one of my fave american comedies of all time. me and my parents and bros all watched it when it was first shown on the FX channel quite some months ago.
i dont usually bother with american comedies other than south park as most are shit but E+D surprised us all.i can watch it straight through on many an occasion and its funny every time.Danny Mcbrides character/creation of Kenny Fuckin Powers is legendary.all the cast are great too.
got the dvd boxset and watched em back to back. glad theres a 2nd series.gonna have to wait for the dvd tho coz since moving out my parents,we dont have as many channels now :-(

You need to watch Yacht Rock

Epsisode 5
"Believe in It"
Toto has been commissioned to write a smooth song for Michael Jackson's Thriller, but Jackson rejects the band, believing after working with Eddie Van Halen on Beat It that such material is in his past. Fearing that Jackson will destroy "smooth music" for a decade, Porcaro turns to McDonald, Loggins, Skunk Baxter, Cross, and Vincent Price (James Adomian), to summon up Koko's ghost for help writing Human Nature.

Been watching the 2nd season, one of the best shows I have seen. Might have to get the first season.

Theres a series 2 already shown in america.i wish it would hurry up and get a US dvd release or a uk airing/pal release.
its easily one of the my fave comedies ever.

by the way any fans should CHECK THIS OUT.

its a movie made prior to eastbound and down by the same writing team and you can see traces of kenny powers in Danny Mcbrides character on this.and it also has that same painfully/awkwardly embarrassing style comedy.
its well worth getting on dvd and is a great watch in the meantime until series 2 comes out.
