Bought Altars of Madness off amazon today. Morbid Angel neglect rectified.

its so obvious that everyones going to pick death and i would as well, but just to make it interesting i picked my second choice out of that lot, Malevolent Creation, fucking amazing death metal band, Envenomed II and The Will to Kill are amongst my favorite death metal albums of all time

Aparat from Death, I'd go with most others o the list. Massacre would win just for From Beyond, Obituary and Morid Angel kick ass and Cannibal Corpse are just Cannibal Corpse. Deicide's self titledis the only album of theirs I ever really gave a shit about, despite only hearing it twice, and the rest.... meh. Autopsy and Atheist are great but I can't get into them that much, hard as I try.

How would people rank the whole list, out of the ones they know? Mine would be:
1. Morbid Angel - gods.
2. Death - early stuff is brilliant (Leprosy ftw Tom!), and I quite like their technical offerings too.
3. Autopsy
4. Massacre
5. Deicide - just the first two albums
6. Obituary - it's been a long time since I've given them a chance, I really struggled to appreciate their first two albums when I first got them... but maybe I would like them more now. Just seem much less essential than the above bands.
7. Atheist - technically excellent but I just can't get into their really proggy sound
8. Cannibal Corpse - have never liked them at all.
I currently haven't checked out Malevolent Creation or Monstrosity, but I think I'd like both better than CC.

Death, Morbid Angel and Obituary would tie for first, followed by Massacre, then Cannibal Corpse, then everything else randomly.

This was recorded in 1994, but it took Rick and Earache two more years to finish it because i quit! Do not let them fool you... all the vocals on this album are not me!! I never finished all the vocal tracks!" Promise was very badly received.
This IS total bullshit> Kam Lee is such a wanker. Thinks he is the king of all and all sorts. He did the whole album and probably thought it was amazing when he was recording it. He just doesnt want his "legendary reputation" ruined. Kam is a wanker haha.
Morgoth did a similar album to Promise that stopped their career basically. It is a shame.

Death are an obvious choice, i still haven't heard a metal album as good as Human. I can't get into standard DM anymore except for the really catchy stuff like SBG. Atheist are a band i can always listen to though, Unquestionable Presence is unquestionably good
