This is MASSIVE! KK has been a huge part of heavy metal since before most of us were born, I can't believe it. Such a casual announcement as well. Surely the beginning of the end for them...

Absolute bullshit. Something seems very wrong here and it's really annoying that KK will be leaving before completing their farewell tour. Fuck that, JP is over now. RIP Priest.

Oh Jon!
Is it just me or does heavy metal in general seem to be completely going down the shitter these days? Deaths, splits, crucial members leaving, shitty albums being released by once-legendary bands...

This is correct, and also why Saxon really is our only hope now.

They won't, have faith in Lord Biff. And listen to the new song on their website. They definitely won't.
This is a real shame of a way to end Judas Priest though. What a whimper indeed. Even though they haven't technically ended, they basically have. There's no point seeing them live again and the new album will probably be rubbish, so that's that.
Perhaps the fact is that heavy metal, like many genres before and after it, has had it's day. There will always be smaller underground bands keeping the flame alive, but as for big boys heavy metal, that might just be it really. At least until the music industry implodes on itself and real talented people are allowed to be successful again without getting screwed up their arses everyday. If that day ever comes. The daaaay that never coooomes-ah! Cunts.
