Good beers

Postby Stevedot2 on Fri Jun 13, 2008 11:55 pm

What beers have you had that made you stand up and say "wow, that's a good beer!" or that you just really liked and wanted more of?

Before I start, I'm not a beer tester so I don't kow any terms, I don't know what tastes malty or hopsy or any of that, but here's mine...

The best beer I ever had was a German beer called Warsteiner, the first time I tried it was in Amsterdam when me and my mates had been walking around in the blistering heat for ages and I was gasping for a drink. We went into this little pub and the bartender recommended it so I had a pint (in a glass with a handle!) and it was seriously the nicest most refreshing drink I ever had! I ordered a crate of bottles of it a while ago and it was still my favourite, should get more. I highly recommend it.

Another gooden is Baltika, a Russian beer that used to be sold in Weatherspoon's pubs, but I haven't seen it for a while, it's also available in Tesco. It's a bottled beer that I used to drink quite a lot, but I haven't had it for ages.

Tyskie is lovely stuff.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

That beer was seriously nice, the giant cans were brilliant aswell.

My usual beer is Corona but it has to be really, really cold. If it's even slightly warm it's horrid.

My usual drink of choice is Hobgoblin if the pub sells it, if not I'll usually go for Becks or some other similar lager

I've been championing the G&T since I was 18. I don't care if Pat Butcher drinks them, they're fucking lovely with some ice and a wedge of lime.

Innis & Gunns (if that's how it's spelt) is lovely. It's more of an ale sort of thing I suppose, but it's delicious. Ales are great. Most lagers are rubbish and all taste of shit, although there are some nice ones here and there.

Golden Glory, for god's sake! Wonderful.
