On the contrary...

My contributions to this board in the past month or so have been far more worthwhile than they had been in the previous, what, 9 months that I had been posting here.

Was it not you yourself that said you couldn't understand why so many people on this board had ragers for 'by-the-numbers' Thrash? The other day, myself and Calum from Amok systematically went through the majority of the Thrash bands that we have been listening to for the past 3 years or so and, honestly, we came up of a list of about ten that we couldn't live without. The fact that I have around 150 bands worth of Thrash on my PC yet regard about 10 bands worth of it to be essential has really got me wondering how I got so into Thrash in the first place.

I've been unable to listen to the obscene number of generic Thrash bands that I could listen to a year ago since around last summer. I'm pretty sick of indiscriminately listening to anger-based tripe with poor musicianship and underdeveloped song-writing.

...And lo, Martin's Gospel had been realised among the public of UK Thrash, and oh how they praised their new Lord.

Sounds like the kind of talk that people use when they bored with a trend. If you love thrash you will stick with it. If it's a phase you're going through, bye.

Only 10?? You've gotta be kidding man!

Thrash isn't always anger based either...

I don't think we even reached 10. Off the top of my head, of the 150 or so Thrash bands I have on my PC, I'd only really be upset if I could never listen to the following again:

Anthrax
Exodus
Forbidden
Heathen
Lääz Rockit
Megadeth
Over Kill
Vio-lence

Perhaps one or two others.

Sounds like the kind of talk used by people who will begrudgingly put up with second rate music just to label themselves a 'thrash fan'.

I personally think Celtic Frost are a bit overrated. I mean, I definitely don't see them as thrash and To Mega Therion is pretty dull. Metallica are overrated but their first three CDs still kill. I listened to Morbid Saint yesterday and, I hate to say this knowing the love, but I thought it was a bit average. Possessed are better and Kreator too. They were the ones that came to my head.

Eternal Nightmare is awesome. End of.

Ten must listen to list? Easy I think.

It's been fun reading all these posts, but it 's just someone trying to force their favorite band onto others, because they think it is the best band ever, someone else will do the same ,in the end we all might like all bands, but I don't think we will ,now do we? :D

I went back to the Saint and I think it is good. Very good. It's just not as mind-blowing as some people have suggested, I feel. I thought it was going to be one of the best things I had thus far missed out on. I guess I thought it was made out to be better than it is. It had been overrated, some might say.

Listen to Assassin a lot, just for you Tom! :D It is good but I'm not even sure that it's the best song. Crying for Death's intro is geat though.

Alright, maybe not everyone thinks CF is thrash but enough people do. I DON'T. And I still think To Mege Therion is pretty damn dull.

Early Metallica is very overrated. While good it is not the best thrash ever as some people seem to think. Same goes for Megadeth. Also good but nothing mindblowing.

Morbid Saint I adore and find it relentless, brutal and have great riffs. The vocals are fucking killer for me and some of the best barks I have ever heard.
