my apologies i'll refrain from using it then!! when i say shredding i refer to ponsy bands like dragonforce who's songs are just one big solo which is boring. it just loses all the impact a solo should have! im probably going to make myself an enemy but i have to say it....i dont like Dream Theater! =]

Dream theater are ok , but stuff really does just go on for do dam long. I enjoyed bits of the new album (mainly Dark Eternal night and Constant motion.) I do think John Petrucii (spelling sorry...) is an amazing guitar player he really is and i think the keyboardist and drummer are some of the best ive heard...but the music can get very boring and gets to a point where it seems like its still going on longer and longer because it thinks it should.

I was going to go see them at the Southampton Guildhall...tiny venue so would be epic...but tickets are fucking expensive!!

The idea of getting boring is just ridiculous. Get a bloody grip my son!

I've been a massive Dream Theater fan for years and I rarely find them boring, there's nothing I love more than a beautifully crafted 25 minute song.

somehow i knew this was gonna turn into a dream theater thread, my view on dream theater is, when people say they bore them or they dont like them that makes me feel more superior cause i believe that bands like dream theater are for people that have a more mature listening ear.

As elitish as it sound, I completely agree with Young Zurab there. Though superior is probably a bit strong.

Oh come off it that's total bollocks, go preen your ego's elsewhere.

Despite DT being excellent musicians (there is no doubt of it) i feel they lack soul and are therefore void.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...
