I would say it def has plenty of thrash elements. Unforgiven III is literally one of the worst songs i have ever heard and every single one of hammets solos sound the same and sound like hes fucking the wah pedel while playing..however

All nightmare long and this was just your life /end of the line have alot of thrash riffs. The main problem is the production is way to clean and crisp to be considered thrash, thier is no aggression. James voice also doesnt work in thrash, hes had to many singing lessons and his voice just doesnt work in a thrash senario.

The chorus's on this album make it worth it tho! Cyanide and the judas kiss ...those chorus are dam awesome and super catchy ..actually so is the one from all nightmare long!
My appocalyspse is awful aswell, the lyrics are terrible and its just a bad song- "death magnetic, drawing closer still" no ...no james...they are not good..bad metallica...go back to your rocking chairs and pipes...

But the rest of the album is very very good, its better then anything after the black album, (Edit: just to add to discussion:still think black still is one of thier best -just under ride the lightning for me. Would probs go: RTL, Black - Kill em all, Master of puppets, AJFA, Death magnetic)

Still undecided about this after downloading it, some of it is hideous, some of it is just ok, some of it is actually quite good. I hear some of the most monotonous riffs I've heard for ages... and what's with one or two songs tailing off into something and then never returning for a strong finish!? Lyrics are also bloody awful and yeah, the Unforgiven is somehow worse than II.

It's no classic, no disaster either.

It's alright, I don't think I'll be listening to it much.

It's better than St Anger but I like Load and Reload alot more.

They finished Ride The Lightning, died, came back as Zombies, wrote One, and died again.

I never cease to be infuriated by this kind of comment as the Black Album is clearly better than ... AJFA.
