Sounds like metalcore to me!

I bought the One Kill Wonder album ages ago and havent listened to it since its first play, the vocals are shite.

That's their best album. Although, that's not saying much.

The Hainted are pure rubbish.

Agreed. I'm not a fan.

Might go just for Municipal Waste as I missed them last time they toured.

Dude, I still have that game on the Commodore 64! Half the challenge as it not crashing! Me and my brother played it one time about 4 years ago and finally finished it for the first time ever!
I'm going to
Tear your fuckin' eyes out,
Rip your fuckin' flesh off,
Beat you 'till you're just a fucking lifeless carcass,
Fuck you and your progress,
Watch me fucking regress,
You were made to take the fall,
Now you're nothing!!

What's with all The Haunted bashing? Yeah, they ain't thrash but their first two albums were awesome. Bury Your Dead is a quality song especially with the intro and The World Burns and Silencer were great too. And you cannot fault the debut. Not metalcore, no way. That's shit like Unearth. The Haunted are just a quality metal act. Only got rEVOLVEr the other day and it is a bit different although I like the song with the dude from SOIA and No Compromise is a solid intro song. Oh and Godpuppet is pretty cool and DOA ruled off OKW. Not a shit band.

However, seen em twice and don't care to see them again. Solid efforts both times (Aro first, Dolving second). But I want to get a TASTE OF THE WASTE.

Its just the vocals that really, really piss me off.

They sound like every other band that has that vocal style. Thats whats so cool about the good thrash bands, they have unique vocalists. Exodus had Baloff, Destruction have Schmier etc.

The vocalist is the most important part of the band and I don't care if the Haunted have great music, the vocals force me to hate it. Some riffs are killer by them though.

If vocals are the most important part of the band, then surely you must hate pretty much every band playing thrash in the UK at the moment? That's the worst thing about the entire scene in my opinion, lack of vocal diversity.

Thats what I hate about bands like unearth, they've given metalcore a bad name. There was some fucking quality metalcore about in the 90s, it's not all complete shit...

Yeah, I have to agree with that. I bought Integrity's 'In Contrast with Sin' a couple of years back and it blew me away. It just pisses all over shit like Hatebreed and Unearth and the other bastards that make this horrible sub-pantera-macho-music. Also, Judge are fucking incredible. THAT is metalcore, you know a genuine mix of the heaviest metal with the most raging hardcore. Sick of it All are pretty great as well and they did some stuff that I'd qualify as being 'metalcore' in the literal sense. Ultimately, all the above bands just made variations on the 'Age of Quarrel' formula made them well (take not Jasta and co).

Actually, if there are any further recomendations, I'd be interested. Also has anyone heard The Dead Eye. I'm not too sure on rEVOLVEr so I might not bother with it...

Atom, I take your point on Aro's vocals. They are hardly special. Competent is about it. Dolving is a bit more individual, just for you to decide what you make of them. Personally, I think that The Haunted's debut is still a quality metal album that's worth check out if you haven't already.

Integrity are the shit mate!
Also check out, rorschach, acme, disembodied, chokehold, early converge, motive and early deadguy for some decent metalcore.
