This comes back to a point made here a couple of year ago, what use is techncal brilliance if there is no soul and feeling with it?? If i listen to live metallica tapes from 84-86, kirks guitar soo is really good, but as time goes on, he plays stuff that other guitarists may be astounded by,but that has lost the feel and warmth his early "less skilled" stuff did.
