i don't know if theres been a topic here about the best (non-thrash) band in the world, so i thought i would start one.
i saw em on thursday at the round house, and had a wonderful time. then i drove to manchester to see them again on friday.
on my journey to leeds in the morning (i was picking up a friend before going manchester) i was thinking to myself "is this really worth it?"
well the awnser was yes.
i parked up behind the venue (after about 3 hours of driving around manchester very lost), and as i walked out up to the back of the place i saw a tour bus. my mate jon said "shall we just have a quick walk behind to see if they are there" and as soon as he said that who should apear but Mikael Åkerfeldt!!!!!! we went over and said hi, and i babled about him being the best man and well done for making the most wonderful music, etc etc. it was bloody great. he is really really cool and just very poliet and so freindly. so yes indeed, that was amazing. then they played and personally i had a much better time in manchester than i did in london. the crowd were about 1000 times better, i got very annoyed that in london people spoke and chatted through-out every lovely/quite moment ruining the atmosphere, in manchester people actually wanted to appreciate the wonderments of opeth joy . also the fact that the PA was alot louder than in london.
my favourite opeth album is probably Still Life, although i bloody love Ghost Reveries and Deliverence.
yes?

Glasgow gig at the ABC on Monday was good but not as good as the Garage last year. Dunno if it was the venue or what, but it seemed a bit flat. The band were flawless as per usual. I think Blackwater Park is my fave record but Deliverance is by far my favourite song. A masterpiece

Haha yeah I have all of their albums and that is definitely their best one. You're the first person I've met that agrees with me on that, normally people will say Blackwater Park even if they don't even own that album OR My Arms, Your Hearse!

i was at the Roundhouse gig also!, was preety damn
apparently though due to publishing rights some tracks wont be put on the DVD being filmed that night, namely Ghost of Perdition as Opeth i think are releasing it indepently or something and dont want to pay Roadrunner. Its also why they didnt play The Grand Conjuration.....

I've seen them about 3 times i think, they're awesome.
Blackwater Park will always be my favourite album. I'm not a fan boy, that's just the first I heard, and it's just, the best to me.
