Listen to this awesome shit

Postby jonny_boy34 on Sun Nov 21, 2010 7:17 pm

Listen to this shit, it's shitting great, Stu just pointed me towards RUPHUS, apparently the greatest Norwegian band of all time.

I'm downloading the album now because the only CD copy I can find online is at amazon.co.uk and costs £38.69. Jesus christ.

They are good but all they do is rip off other classic bands, there is one song that sounds exactly like King Crimson - i talk to the wind, and another song that sounds exactly like Jethro Tull - Crosseyed Mary.

they do it well though so fair enough to the buggers.

I pretty much thought the same as Jamie in this regard, talented but tactless.

Still very nice, now let's all hold hands and poo in union.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I didn't actually notice one bit that sounded like Cross Eyed Mary... but yeah there's loads of King Crimson everywhere. But again I didn't hear anything that soudned 'exactly' like I Talk To The Wind. I remember a lovely flute bit, but it didn't make me think of that. I think it's a smashing album. And the female singer is amazing (but luckily there is a man singer too for manly rock goodness). And lovely keyboards, amazing mad church organ bits.

Anyway I'd rather listen to this than eat another muffin with Brussels Pate like I just did. It wasn't that bad, but it did make feel a little bit sick.

Found this in a shop in Canterbury yesterday for £8. It's pretty good. I actually think their sound is most like Uriah Heep. Though I can hear one bit that sounds clearly like Mother Mary and another bit that sounds a lot like I Talk to the Wind, it is a nonsense to suggest it's pure rip-off. There is also a bit with a sax (I think) that sounds a lot like Pink Floyd. Still Alive is a fairly unique track. I do think they are not as good as the sum of their parts but this is still very nice.

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"
