I think that video was great personally. Far better than most of their others.
Also, I am suprised that no-one has made a comparison songwise between this and the song One though.

Yeah me too. They've so blatantly tried to create a modern One, and failed miserably.

I think the song itself is not too bad actually... it is over-long, but quite listenable. I prefer the ballad section to the noodley "heavy" section though for sure.

Bloody hell, I've only just noticed how awful the solo is. Kirk Hammett is a naughty man. :shame:

It seems to have leaked.
Downloading now, should be finished in a few minutes. I'll report back whether it's real, fake or a Larsvirus.

It's real.
And you know something? With the exception of two or three tracks, skimming quickly through it, it doesn't sound too bad.

Its a great album actually. The End of The Line really feels like a song from AJFA. So far its bloody great... the songs theyve shown for preview were not the best.

Exactly that. I'm liking it a hell of a lot more than I thought I ever would.
I do have a couple niggles though:
Every now and again, Lars forgets he's not recording St. Anger II and the drums sound shocking.
Until the final track "My Apocalypse", Hetfield's vocals (ironically, the one and only redeeming factor of St. Anger) seem to have lost all that pent-up that aggression and passion. St. Anger seems to have been drained it all from him and where he needs a spike of rage or a hint of subtlety, his voice falls flat and emotionless (At the end of Unforgiven III it sounds like his voice can't take the strain and trails off one line almost disinterestedly).
But on the whole, it's definitely the best album that Metallica could have produced under the circumstances.
A cross between AJFA and The Black Album with a hint of Load. And not a group therapist in sight.

I better download it then, as crap as I think it's going to be, I'd like to be able to like it a bit. Although I listened to the studio version of Cyanide yesterday, and it sounded like a big bloody mess, mainly because of the way the guitars were panned during certain parts and also because of the way the drums are played, so bloody shit. Anyway, here we go.

Well fuck me in the balls, the first song's not too bad at all. It's still lacking something and I probably won't listen to it many more times, but it wasn't a bad start. The End of the Line also sounds pretty good. Well, maybe they did just release the shit songs for preview and kept the good ones secret. Let's see what happens.

EDIT: Fuck, The End of the Line was quite really good! Didn't expect that at all. Nice.
