What better day to have a metal festival than on the official day of horror FRIDAY 13TH. And what better way to add some fun to Friday’s proceedings than our fright-filled costume contest!
The theme is simple: anything in the style of Friday 13th or any famous horror movie characters - Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, Hellraiser… the dungeon of ideas and inspiration is bottomless! The creator of the most elaborate or imaginative costume will win VIP tickets to B.O.A. 2011, the opportunity to watch a band of their choice from the side of the stage at this year’s Bloodstock, a festival T-Shirt and lots of other Bloodstock goodies .

We will have a dedicated team selecting possible candidates throughout the day. Vampires, zombies, werewolves, crazed axe killers – anything you can imagine and bring to life! Ten finalists will then be brought onto the Sophie Stage just before midnight to be judged by the rabid crowd – the loudest cheer wins! Diversity is the key so 3 different themed winners will be selected on the day !

Surely the amount of time thinking of that PR stunt would of been better spent on solving the problem of suitable headliner.

Motorhead would be great, but what about judas priest??? Maybe they could do it, especially with all the revelling in the 30th anniversary of british steel at the moment??? If it is machine head, i will be disgusted, thats like taking a kids big bag of extra sugary fruit gums of him and giving him a pack of fishermans friends instead and expecting him to want to eat them!!!! Pfft!!!!

Oh ...... wait, just checked the priest's website and they are playing texas and florida when bloodstock is on!! Bummer!!

Also Twisted Sister have now been moved to play on Sunday as the last band of the Festival .

This does not bode well for my attendance this year.

With the cancellation of HEAVEN & HELL’s summer appearances, BLOODSTOCK have been left with boots to fill that are simply far too big for just one band - the metal legends are irreplaceable. So HEAVEN & HELL’s vacant slot will be filled by not one, but two awesome names from the world of metal, in the form of a headliner, plus a very special guest.

We are tremendously excited to confirm the only 2010 UK appearance of Swedish pioneers MESHUGGAH, who will appear as special guests to an equally exciting headline act, which will be announced on June 14th.
Since 1987, MESHUGGAH have pushed the boundaries of hard music, with their innovative brand of extreme experimental metal dropping jaws across the globe. With their complex, polyrhythmic song structures, a MESHUGGAH live show has to be seen to be believed - impressive doesn’t even come close to describing the almost inhuman delivery of their death/thrash/prog metal blend - BLOODSTOCK ticket holders are truly in for a treat. Pretty much this, I dont see why they cant annouce it I mean download is like 3 weeks away.

Yeah I know I really should'nt have an excuse as I live like 1hr away tops, I go to America next week and Hellfest when I come back. So I really wont know how much money I have to play with until I get back.


However it does mean if I attend we can have tinned peach halves again and I cant get back my tin OPENER! I think it will be a last minute job if anything.
