What is the best riff ever written?
Opinions? Any riffs that just make you cum down your leg the very instant you hear them?

Re: What is the best riff ever written?
It's a bit difficult to say conclusively. I can never agree with people that go for memorability alone and say, for example, Black Dog or Smoke On the Water. I'd say if I were given a guitar and told to play a cool riff, I'd play Bark At the Moon. Mr. Brownstone and Still of the Night would be up there too.
Thrash wise, my favourite riffs have always been off of Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?! There are a million riffs in Wake Up Dead, The Conjuring and Devil's Island. I guess the whole of that album, along with So Far... So Good... So What! and Rust In Peace are chock-a-block with riffs.

Really is fucken hard aint it. I find sometimes that the best riffs are kinda hiden under solos or in breakdowns. I think Rust In Peace has some brilliant riffs as did Metallica's earlier stuff. Page really was a master of the riff, some of his riffs where so fucking catchy. I really cant think of any of my fave riffs as there are so many.

I'd add Van Halen's early stuff to my answer too. Feel Your Love Tonight is tits.
WAIT!
I have an answer. The best riff ever written is...
*drum roll*
Feel Like Making Love by Bad Company.

cant say exactly, but if you decide where in the world do the best riffs come from, then it has to be birmingham 101%, i mean sabbath, priest, bolt thrower, (early) napalm death,(early) benediction. all bands with amazing riff based songs.

Euch!
Sabbath shouldn't even be in the running for the 'Best Riff Ever Written'. Sure, they have plenty of memorable ones but I'm pretty sure I could think of 100 riffs I'd put before any Black Sabbath riff, if I had to.

Too many good ones to name a best.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
