So, did anybody go to the Leeds or Glasgow shows?
I haven't had a proper look on here but nothing has leapt out at me so far.

So, Leeds Academy...

About as surprising as night following day, the chanting for Slayer began during The Haunted's set and equally as unsurprisingly Peter Dolving started a Slayer chant himself. Fair play, Mr D. You may not have been remembered for much last night but you had the brains to know that you were being seen as a warm-up act rather than trying to showcase yourself and steal the limelight. So many others have tried that little trick and failed horrifically. A knowing set played well.
7/10

After some chanting, more chanting, and, just for a change, a bit more chanting and a lot of dry ice, Slayer finally emerged to the title track of the new album. Pandemonium erupted and never let up. Tom had a laugh at himself for not being able to headbang any more and still managed to come across as an imposing frontman while sometimes just looking like he was up there for shits and giggles.
The sound wasn't too great to begin with, with Tom's bass occasionally cutting out and his mic having a few gremlins, but that sorted itself out after just a few minutes. Lombardo, Hanneman and King were tight as hell all night and Tom's bass playing was excellent too. it was just his vocals which let him down - or rather his forgetfulness - fluffing his lines on Cult and, quite spectacularly, on Angel of Death, which became an audience participation karaoke for most of its duration.

No, this wasn't the best Slayer show I've ever seen (That was my 12th time) but it was still better than some of their arena and festival sets. It was full length for a start.
8/10

Next, I've got them in Birmingham tomorrow night and then Nottingham on Monday.

What a horrendous set list. Shamefully I've never seen Slayer, but maybe it's for the best as I'd come away gutted that they didn't perform everything off the first two albums.

My onions on slayer have been well documented....

Still i'd probs see them if they were on.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Brum show exactly the same as the Leeds show but a lot tighter. Not too sure about the new Birmingham Academy. It's a pain in the arse to get to and the sound isn't as good as the old place.
£4 a pint too.
