In germany all the thrash bands were 100's of miles apart and it was one of the biggest scenes for thrash worldwide.

Agreed, of course there's a UK Thrash scene. It's small but it's there.

I think having old school sounding bands (ie mutant,us ect) and more progressive sounding bands is very important at the moment. It gives fans of all the different forms of thrash something to cling on to, be it bay area ,black thrash, speed, crossover ect. What I don't get is people claiming that this band aren't as good that one because they aren't as original.Name any band it the UK scene and you can tell there infulances a mile off, and personally, i would way rather hear a really good band playing testament style thrash to a lame band playing progressive machine head drivel. Originality it all about writing good songs.

I can't speak for Heretic but I never said that. I said playing something that's already been done superbly well (even if you are playing it well too) does nothing to advance a scene and put it on the map.

Which is accurate. A good example is all the NWOBHM type bands playing in the bay area in the 80s. They were there, they were good but nobody rallied behind them.

Now playing ultra old school thrash might get a band a few fans of the old school but it will not make worthwhile, standout scene, which is, like I said, already developing.

And I can't think of anyone that sounds like Machine head around here.

At the end of the day we may not all see eye to eye but we're mainly all fans of each other regardless of our opinions of 'how things should sound' and we should all treat each other with a degree of respect. Slagging people off is not helpful.

Gama Bomb guys, while I don't think you're doing anything new I don't think that invalidates what you're doing and I did say that. You're doing your thing and it's fun.

Im not knocking you guys at all dude.

Its just a matter of option, some bands want to push the envelope with there brand of thrash whilst others prefer a purer form of thrash. although:

Totally disagree there. SSS and Evile play old school thrash to the max and they are the most popular bands on the scene. Not being an ass here but the old school sounding bands in the uk scene seem to be the most popular all round, that is NOT to say that the more progressive are not vital.

All of this is irrelevant any way, because metal isn't even real music.

Yes. If I was physically able to make music that girls liked, I'd be playing it. No fucking doubt about it.

I don't find Evile and SSS old school at all. Evile have death metal influences and sound really European and SSS are one of the new breed of crossover bands.

In fact, I said I think Evile are one of the new style bands that have the UK sound.

cheese on toast, anybody?

i always make sure that i dont use too much cheese, enough so that just before the toast burns the cheese is very bubbly and going almost crispy.

another vital ingredient is oregano, for goodness sake.

if you dont like that, then you must be some kind of cunt. so piss off. cunt.
