NEW MACHINE HEAD ALBUM!!!
What is your opinion on the new Machine Head album? I think that it fucking awesome. Some really fast and thrashy stuff in there. And fantastic soloing as well.

Aye i've listened to it a fair bit, not to mention went to a listening party for it last night (surprisingly, no members were there) Anyway, it's a great album. Their best ever.

I don't really like it that much at all unfortunately. In my opinion I don't think they'll ever be as amazing as they were on the first two albums. Burn My Eyes was an absolute classic. They completely lost it with The Burning Red (which ironically was the album that got me into them in the first place!), and Supercharger was just ridiculous. They began the path to redemption with the song Imperium which was great, but the rest of Through The Ashes I found to be quite a dull experience. With this album, they've got a little bit better again, but as a whole it just doesn't do anything for me. There are bits here and there throughout the album that make me think 'wonderful, thats great', but there isn't one whole song that I find good. To me it just feels like they're trying to hard to be 'metal', they've got all these different bits that sound great, but the one thing they are not doing is just trying to be themselves. It still has a Machine Head feel to it, but it's the shit boring and nu-metal Machine Head feel that I don't like, not the good Machine Head feel of metal madness from Burn My Eyes.
Overall I think it's their best album since The More Things Change, but that really isn't saying anything. Whilst it hints at a hope that Machine Head are getting better again, I still feel it's a disappointment, which is a shame. I really want them to be good again!

It could well be their best album but it will still make my wish that rob and phill would go back to vio-lence and do a new album with them!
but hey i guess i will just keep on waiting
I don't think that there will ever be a new Vio-lence album so let's stick to the legacy that "Eternal Nightmate", "Oppressing the Masses" and the "Blood and Dirt" DVD left us.

Got a rip of this today. There are some impressive moments on the album but some of the songs sound like they have been padded out to make them "long and epic". Too much "la la la" melodic vocal crap in there too and i don't like Rob's melodic vocals It held my interest for the first five songs and then i started to get bored.

Probally as bad as the rest of the Machine Head albums. I wont be buying it or even listening to it. They have never impressed me.

Same here.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Yep, you pretty much managed to say what I was trying to say but I ended up babbling on forever. Basically, when I first listened to it, every time I got excited at a good bit and that 'wonderful!' I then proceeded to get bored for another five minutes, or longer. And yes indeed, Rob's melodic vocals are shit. In fact, his vocals in general are shit now. I don't what happened to him in between the 2nd and 3rd albums... but whatever happened, I wish it didn't.
