Metal ballads

So what is the best metal ballad???? Best to keep it metal, no AOR type pooey stuff, just proper power ballds from real heavy metal bands!! :rockdevil:

My fave always gives me goose pimples when i hear it, and is just such an amazing piece of music, especially the genius guitar solo, and that is "Sleeping In The Fire" by WASP.
Others worthy of note are, Fade To Black (obviously), Tonight by OZZY, Welcome to dying (Onslaught) and No One Like You (scorpions)

Falconer - Portals of light. What a sadness!

I also love the Scorps one. Dunno if it'll count as a ballard, but Beyond the Realms of Death by the mighty Priest is fantastic.

'Winds of Change' by Scorpions. Gotta love the cheesy whistling at the start.

I quite like Escape From Within by Flots and Jets... and somebody mentioned room with a view by death angle, veil of deception is also good.

If we are talking Scorps ballads, then the two you want are "Lady Starlight" from Animal Magnetism, and the very best of them all "When the smoke is going down" from Blackout.
"Thorn wishes aegis,rapturous beasts below"
"Aegis arising,the colours of space"

Very good choice there!

However, there is one clear winner here, and nothing can ever come close to topping it as the best metal ballad ever created.

Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver

Falconer kick ass, but I'd choose "Emotional Skies".

KISS - God Gave Rock and Roll To You. The ultimate ballad.
