Re: Films and all that
I saw it on the Empire website the other day, great news. Not sure if Rick Moranis is going to be in it though. And I don't actually think the original cast are 100% confirmed, but the impression I got is that it's only going to happen if Bill Murray's in it, and he's only going to do it if the script's good, or something like that.

I also thought Bill Murray was hostile to doing another ghost busters...but the rumor mill says that the original cast will be in the mentoring position

This is all George Lucas's fault. I hate him so much.

Peter Jackson's too - if it weren't for LOTR, there wouldn't be this sudden obsession with creating trilogies all the time, and we may have gotten a good Pirates of the Caribbean sequel instead of two shit ones, and the same goes for the bloody Matrix. Saying that, I love LOTR very much and am glad it happened.

No CG to date film has topped Toy Story and there are so many that are just utterly appalling. I didn't mind the use of CG when they were trying to get shots that would be otherwise impossible but when you get CG wolves instead of just trained wolves, you have to start questioning its use. For example, I actually feel really sorry for the actors in Transformers: whilst it was a good film, it was pretty evident that they were having to act and time their lines around nothing.
Basically CG will never give us better films because you couldn't do something like the ending of Planet of the Apes better with CG than you could with Chuck Heston and a big cardboard cut-out. Shit medium, only tossers like it.

Re: Films and all that
It invariably does.
Deep Rising didn't look too awful when it came out but they might as well have used models because it looks terrible now. I reckon CG will age as well as the Jason and the Argonauts film.
EDIT:
CG will literally look shitter than this in a few years.

Who is RHH and I wasn't slagging claymation; on the contrary I was saying it will probably age better than CG.

The beast from 20,000 fathoms is an awesome movie, if only nukes could awaken giant monsters...much better than melting and radiation sickness
