Team fortress 2 is pretty fun if you're into playing online, otherwise I wouldn't bother (because there's no offline)

Thanks for the suggestions, anyone played Grand Theft Auto 4? Is it up to 4, I played the first one and then got left behind.

I have HL2, installed it on my old PC years ago, forgotten my Steam account details and am waiting or Valve to reset it so I can play it again. I got a little way through and remember it being really good, should fly on my new system.

Tbh my pc is a bad ass one to, but as I have a xbox,ps3 and wii. I use it more for media stuff and emulators.

I do not play to many games on it, there is'nt to much difference between a pc and the higher end of the console spectrum. Obviously FPS are way better on a PC.

I really don't want to have a big row over the PC being the best platform (which it is), so i'll just lay into the recommendations.

Half Life 2 is totally essential, as well as the expansions that have come out. I would also back up the props for TF2 and Far Cry 2.

Stalker: Shadow Of Chernobyl with the Oblivion Lost mod is pretty much the best game out at the minute. Make sure you don't get Clear Skies as it is utter pish, and be certain you get the OL mod as it makes the game so much better.

What sort of games do you like playing besides FPS Iain? I could easily recommend some other really decent titles that way.

Errrm, I used to love Elite (showing my age a bit here), I don't like War games, D&D stuff either or Martial arts, but anything else I'd consider. I was a big game player when I was in my teens (ZX Spectrum and the Amiga), moved on to Doom and Quake when the PC started to take off and then stopped in the mid 90s, so you could say I'm a bit out of touch. I'd even consider some old games that are at budget price, so any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Off to town tomorrow so I may pop in to Game.
