Laid Wasted, a Thrash/Death Metal band based near the town of Winchester in Hampshire in Southern England, started early 2010 when drummer Clive Lusmore and bass guitarist Jasper Carpenter's old band Pariah changed their name and line-up.
Vocalist Sean Walsh joined in January 2010 roughly when the band had come up with a new name. A couple of months after, guitarist Joe Long joined replacing previous guitarist Ben Brooks who had left the band. Guitarist Tom Smyth left a couple of months after that and the band began writing and playing as a four piece from Spring 2010. After playing shows in January and February 2011, guitarist Joe Tanner joined in February 2011 completing the line-up leading to more shows in April and June 2011. In November 2011, bass guitarist Jasper Carpenter left and the band has been searching for a bass guitarist ever since. It from this time and onwards Laid Wasted began writing even more material whilst still establishing their sound, with the current line-up of Clive Lusmore on Drums, Sean Walsh on Vocals, Joe Long on Rhythm/Lead Guitars, and Joe Tanner on Lead/Rhythm Guitars
After a hiatus from shows lasting for over a year (due to writing almost a completely new set of songs, recording their first release/demo in May 2012, as well as other commitments) Laid Wasted released a demo at their first show back on the local scene in October 2012. Multiple shows were also played in October, November, and December. With this return to live shows, Laid Wasted aims to devastate on-looking crowds and listeners with their own blend of metal genres! With influences ranging from :
Bloodbath, Chimaira, Coroner, Decapitated, Devildriver, Emperor, Exodus, Fear Factory, Hatebreed, ICS Vortex, Ihsahn, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Kreator, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Megadeth, Meshuggah, Opeth, Pantera, Psycroptic, Sepultura, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament, Voivod and many more
