Megadrive - V - SNES

Postby Atom on Tue Aug 08, 2006 10:59 am

Sorry for the nerdy post but these are blatantly the two best consoles ever made. Back in a time when games were made for their playabilty and not for their flashy graphics.

These consoles sold roughly the same amount and are both excellnt so which one are you going to choose?

Megadrive by far!

Think of what it had, GoldenAxe, Kid Chameleon, The Ooze, Ecco, Sonic, Shinobi, Streets Of Rage, Toejam & Earl, colums... The list goes on!

I did like the Zelda game on the SNES though and Donkey Kong Country, that ruled!

I had that!

I got pretty damn far on Shinobi if I remember, never completed Golden Axe and clocked Streets Of Rage.

I love Megadriver. They have some awesome theme toons from games such as Golden Axe and Sonic. I wonder if all their songs are still available for download.

I never had a snes but i loved my megadrive so I think I will have to vote for that. Golden Axe 2 and Road Rash kicked major amounts of ass.

Also I totally forgot about the best Megadrive game...

ALTERED BEAST!

"Rise from your grave"

"Welcome to your doom!"

For games, I prefer the Megadrive purely because of the ultra-cool red-sneaker-wearing hedgehog that is Sonic :rockdevil:

I really don't get the Mario vs Sonic argument.

Cool hedgehog that destroys machines by crashing into them at speed vs a fat plumber who jumps on turtles  No contest :P

Though having said that, I owned both consoles and there were some pretty good games on the SNES. Street Fighter II Turbo has to be my all-time favourite. Just thinking about it brings back memories of my incredibly sad (not boohoo-sad) childhood in front of a TV screen lol.
