So I heard the new Onslaught album

I like many of you have been eagerly waiting for Killing Peace. On the whole I guess I am satisfied with the release and will quickly buy a copy once it is released.

While there is a fair bit of groove thrown in it is better than Christ Illusion, Shovel Headed Kill Machine, Enemy of God etc. I stil tend to zone out from time to time.

While there is a lot of groove thrown some of the songs have their thrashy moments and the groove is actually quite good for groove but it does lack that bite that only thrash can have. The vocals are killer and really bring the album up. The drummer does a very good job as well. Shock and Awe is easily the thrashiest track on the release and is killer. Destroyer of worlds is a cool slow groove track that will have you nodding your head to the drum beat on occasion.

So a solid comeback from Onslaught. I hope they can build off this and add more thrash but the band should continue playing what inspires them.

I've got my grubby mits on it too, wil certainly be bought at release, its not as instant as some but after a few listens its growing on me, doesnt sound as generic as I had feared it could either, has some real character in it.

I just found it on Kerrazy Torrents.

Someone should make a big fuck-off poster out of that beautiful cover art.

It's nice to see the Brits supporting their Thrash scene. I mean, telling people where they can download an illegal copy of Onslaught's new album counts as support, right? And don't spew me shite about buying it when it comes out, because for every 10 people that download it, 3-4 probably won't.

I think the real fucking idiot is the person who was fortunate to get a promotional copy of the album for review and decided to share it around. In my time I must have had thousands of albums before their release date and I have never leaked a single one.

Like it or not the leaking of albums is a fact of life, and bands must expect it to happen, not that that makes it right of course.

Indeed that is why I didn't post the link. People can look for it themselves without my help. They probably would be even if I didn't post this thread. I will help with the rare out of print thrash releases but not with the stuff that is easily available, especially the really recent material.

I also get a fair few review copies my way and never publicly leak them, but yeh, I will happily download an album to see what its like, if I like it, it gets bought, who cares? I'm not taking any money away from the band, I'm not perpetuating a problem... Whats the problem?

The problem is that record labels want you to spend money on their crap releases too :D

Jono, you're not taking any money away from the band? If you believe that, you're an idiot.

THAT's the problem. I always figured this place had a sense of community, you know? British thrashers supporting their Thrash scene. Answer me this: if this thread was about the new Evile album, would you have posted that same comment telling people where they could download it? I very much doubt it. Why should Onslaught be any different? It's utter hypocrisy.

If you posted that comment over on MetalIreland.com regarding the new album by, say, Primordial, you'd be chewed to pieces and spat out. Yet people are posting in this thread asking where they can download it.

Nice community.
