I basically agree with Jon here.

I'd still like some heavier moments, but they don't exactly have to be death metal.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Indeed, I love the heavy moments too, but I love them even more when there's proper singing going on. I think perhaps Ghost Reveries was their peak of heavy growlyness, especially with the first two tracks which made my face implode several times, but the growlings on Watershed sound a bit more forced in places, which is why the clean singing over all the madness on The Locust Eater is ridiculously amazing. And also Burden, what a wonderful song. Lovely. Just lovely.

Jon I couldn't disagree with you more with your views on the more heavy/death metally bits and vocals on watershed as I think they are absolutely perfect. I don't really care what stylistic choices they take for this new album, as long as it sounds good and the songs are well written I am happy :-)

I think maybe it's just more my taste that has changed then! I thought Watershed was perfect too when it came out, it's just when I listen back to it now I much prefer the lovely boy bits.

This interview contains the word 'Vintage' and mentions Swedish folk songs. This is good, I am starting to get a bit excited now. Only a bit though.

Well I assumed that some people in the world knew before me seeing as it's on Wikipedia, so... And anyway, the only thing I read is that he is getting bored of it, I never read him say that he's not actually going to growl at all, so I am happy because I have just found that out. I don't care if anyone else knew first, it doesn't make any difference to my life or my bubble!!!

Out of all the hilarious and annoying internet mentalities (e.g. pics or it didn't happen, n00bs and all that, etc) the 'I already knew that and therefore you are a n00b' one is the one that drives me the most bonkers. I DON'T CARE IF YOU ALREADY KNEW!!!! GAAAAAAAAAAGGGH DAMN YOU ZURAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAB!!!!!

OMG! You n00b, Kushner, we already knew you didn't care if we already knew! It was on a website called kushnersbeefs.com and we already because we're l33t and shit. Consider yourself pwned.

Seriously, though. I predict good things for this album - I'm sure Akerfeldtyourmum has made the right choice. Long time coming, really.

Rumour has it the first 'single', The Devil's Orchard, will be released upon the n00b public on July 28th. I'm quite excited, but as excited as I was when I saw the teaser for The Dark Knight Rises. Fucking hell, Tom Hardy is the best and Chris Nolan is a ruddy genius at picking actors to play his villains.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sold. But I'll expect better on the album, the single is always going to be the tamest (in other words, most repetitive, least wild) song on the album. Besides, I think this track might seem better after a few listens. Maybe not, but perhaps.
