I saw In The Loop last night, it lived up to all expectations. A very intelligent and hilarious film indeed, Armando Iannucci has done it again!

Wise choice.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Holy moly, the first trailer for The Road has finally been released. There's a review of the film here too, even though it's not out until October, and it just sounds like the best film ever. Have a look:

Well indeed, I finally saw Wolverine last night, and I enjoyed it quite a lot! It was pretty cheesy in a very Hollywood sort of way, with some terrible lines, and Wolverine wasn't as good as he was in the other X-Men films, and the film overall didn't even come close to how amazing X-Men 2 was, but at least it was better than The Last Stand. I just which it wasn't so bloody cheesy! X-Men 2 had a good touch of class brought to it by Bryan Singer, but this was a bit idiotic. Still, I had a lot of good fun watching it indeed. Deadpool was amazing! And the guy who played Sabertooth I thought was very good actually, a fine actor indeed. The young Patrick Stewart at the end looked hilarious and pretty terrible... and the after-credits scene I got was the one with Wolverine at the bar, spouting the terrible line "I'm drinking to remember". Awful, awful, awful. Still, good fun.

Anyway, after watching the new Terminator trailer another couple of times, I'm really really excited about seeing it now, even though I want to hate it and say it's shit, but the last trailer is just amazing. AAAAAHG!HG@1

And I've just pre-ordered The Wrestler, Gran Torino and Watchmen on DVD, hooray!

hhhmm saw star trek and thought it was meh...as a hardcore stat trek fan it is obvious that they tried to make it appeal way beyond the star trek original fanbase. the story progressed too slow and the whole thing was abit too hollywood.

I'm going to have to disagree...the pacing of the movies was fine and i never felt bored at all, there were no ten minutes of discussion about what to do a la next generation. There was always the "what the hell are they going to do now" due to the changing of the universe which kept me interested through out.

As much as i love Star Trek as well it was dying on its arse and needed to be brought up to speed for the 21st century, Enterprise had weak and repetitive story lines and Voyager went on for too long. The fact of bringing a new audience to it can only be a good thing with people getting interested and more chance of a new series. As for the next film they can develop the characters more so and have the crew working as a cohesive team. maybe add the technobabble haha. Though for the core fan base there was a lot of bits nerds like myself saw, i spotted a tribble when they find Scotty, the typical red shirt death, Captain Pike, Scotty talking about Archer's (from Enterprise) beagle getting beamed etc

Also the Hollywood thing i don't think came over at all...yes the actions scenes were fast paced as were the ship battles but thats what star trek would have been if they had the budget and technology to do so in the 60's. Also the humor parts yes were a bit cheese though if you watch the original series it is hilarious, Kirk's slow mo fight with the green monster, the drop kicks, sulu running around the ship half naked sword fighting and spock with a goatee.

Overall it was a good origin story much in the way that x-men and Spider-man set up the characters and pave the way for the far superior sequel ( i hope).

I just watched the Terminator Salvation trailer, it looks like it could be rather good! Hopefully not too swamped by effects though.

The film is pretty good tbh. Im not a avid Trekkie, but I have watched all the movies and enjoyed them.

The only thing I did'nt find believable is how they all met JUST like that, not over a period of time, then I guess there would have to be a movie of LOTR epic proportions to fit it all in

The Star Trek movie turned me in to a big trekkie, I now own all the seasons and movies of the original series. And I'm about to see the new movie for the second time.
