for the love of god wont someone think of the children?

If i cant get a ticket to this it'll be worse than melloboat and wacken combined!

I wish I had the money to go. Very sad.

That's quite lovely, but I wish they'd play Baying of the Hounds instead the Grand Conjuration (probably the only Opeth song I find quite boring), and they seem to have taken Serenity Painted Death out (they were playing earlier on in the tour) and replaced it with nothing. Bastards. Oh well, The Lotus Eater will be unbelievable and Deliverance, yay! And The Drapery Falls actually, I bloody love that one. Hope Leaves also, lovely. Well, everything lovely really.

Off to Brum tonight for this, mainly for Cynic it has to be said (I've seen Opeth twice already this year).
Why, oh why do Opeth never fucking play Harvest?!!

They did actually play it on the Melloboat in March, they did a lovely jazzy version of it (the drummer used brushes and such) and it was really lovely.

just got back from the brum gig. impressions:

The Ocean: tight, but not my cup of tea

Cynic: knew nothing, came away knowing better, effects gallore, but enough substantiation (is this even a word) to warrant it, great performance

Opeth: awesome, just plain awesome. funny jokes. end of.

Opeth setlist, read off the lighting guy's desk:

Heir Apparent
The Grand Conjuration
Godheads lament
Lotus Eater
Hope Leaves
Deliverance
Demon Of The Fall
The Drapery Falls
