The seller is one Morgan Steinmeyer Håkansson a.k.a. Evil from Abruptum, sanity has hardly ever been his thing! There must be a damn good reason for selling what was a massive chunk of his life. Perhaps he's settled down at last, met a nice girl and wants to put a deposit down on a house with a white picket fence?

The seller isn't actually Morgan, it's a guy called Warren Schofield from the UK. He's the guy in the classic photo of Bard Faust with an 'unidentified corpsepainted fan' in Lords of Chaos. He's selling all the stuff for Morgan because Morgan doesn't have an Ebay account, etc. Morgan's getting rid of the stuff in order to help finance Marduk touring, and because apparently he has no use for purely sentimental things anymore.
Obviously I can't afford any of it, but I can't decide whether owning some of the stuff would be nice in terms of owning a piece of history, or geeky/fanboyish and a total waste of money.

If I had the money I would. I had the chance of two original Hellhammer demos a few years ago, £50, but I never bothered. I kick myself.

Having a Dead letter would be pretty interesting, but not at the prices I assume they're gonna go for.

Yeah, the records/vinyls are definitely worth it, but I meant more the letters, photos, etc.

Hats off to him, thats dedication! i don't know if i would sell all my best things in order to fund my band touring (sorry caps!), even if we were Marduk.

why did the norwegian black metal community hate death metal?

They didn't hate death metal per se, just what they perceived as the trend for 'life metal', i.e. death metal bands singing about social issues/joke things rather than more morbid themes, wearing tracksuit bottoms on stage, everyone getting Morrisound productions, etc.
