Jon, it's old-school death. If you like it, which I honestly doubt, I will have to give you a bit of an education.
"And what about the churches and all their wealth
There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

I just simply cannot believe how good Opeth are sometimes. You should all get a little bit drunk and listen to Damnation, it's the most lovely amazing thing in the world.

mmnn opeth. What do people think of Ghost Reveries as an album? It gets alot of shit on the Opeth forum but i think its a fantastic album. My fav would probably have to be My Arm's Your Hearse or Still Life, pure Opeth goodness. Pure Goodness.

Pure Goodness... I couldn't think of a better description. Ghost Reveries is my favourite Opeth album, perhaps because it's the first one I got, but even so I think it's absolutely amazing. And not only the best Opeth album, but one of the best prog metal albums in the world full bloody stop. Every song makes me want to weep because I can't believe how good it is. Especially The Baying of the Hounds, which has the best middle section ever written. And Ghost of Perdition is just ridiculous, as is Harlequin Forest. Good lord.
Still Life is also unbelievable though, definitely one of the best things since sliced bread. I can't decide whether that or Blackwater Park is my 2nd favourite... probably Blackwater Park. Dirge For November also makes me want to cry. And don't forget Deliverance, a mighty fuck of an album indeed, with the best rhythm ever known to man (that bit at the end that goes on for a good few minutes, it's like they know how amazing it is so they just repeat it as much as they can!)
Good lord.
