The only thing i know about Devastation is that one of their former drummers Louie Carrisalez sang for Death when i saw them on the infamous tour with Kreator when Chuck didn't want to come to Europe for whatever reason. I actually have his signature on my Leprosy and Spiritual Healing vinyl

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

The Chicago bunch were good too.

Devastation from Illinois are the only ones I've heard. Real cool old school death metal! They are the ones Napalm Death cover on the Leaders Not Followers 2 CD.

Good Times. I have a Coma Of Souls poster signed by "Death" and Kreator from the Leeds Crash Records signing just 'afore the Bradford show. I didn't want to risk my vinyl that day. Classic Louis live quote that I will take to my grave: "This song is about a zombie ritual. This one's called Zombie Ritual"
Good Times.
I can confirm that Devastation do indeed kill. I probably prefer SOL to Idolatory as it has a rawer production.

As ian said, the illanois devastation were by far a better band, the "a creation of ripping death" demo, not only kicks the shit out of signs of life, but has one of the best demo titles ever!!!
