I never really got into Futurama that much, decent enough show though.

I love and worship South Park, and could easily watch it all day (arguably, I have already done so, or at least several hours ), but it still does not beat the Simpsons.
There is just no way I can rank any cartoon above what the Simpsons has done, and the absolutely genre defining episodes it has under its belt.
At this point, South Park is my "favourite" cartoon - that doesn't mean I think it's better than the Simpsons though, which is the classic of classics.

I can't get why people are so blindly deferential towards The Simpsons. Sure, it was untouchable between '92 and '97 but it has literally been worse than Family Guy since then. I mean, I honestly think that had The Simpsons called it a day at the 200 episode mark like it was meant to then it's place as the best animated comedy of all time would be set in granite. However, season after season of crap over the past 10 years has utterly sullied the good reputation the show had built up over the course of the 1990s.
If something has been crap for longer than it has than it has been good then, in my opinion, it doesn't deserve to be worshipped as the be all and end all of its genre. Generally, the best comedies and the ones that have stood the test of time are the ones that were pulled ahead of their time. For the generations who didn't grow up during the golden age of The Simpsons it is going to be hard to discriminate between the good and the utter toss.

Some of the new episodes are funny as hell - although I have noticed some sketches or parts of them where they seem to be trying to compete with family guy humour.

Yeah I noticed a few seasons back when The Simpsons was REALLY crap how they had switched to pain based humour and Homer was pulling all these really 'random' style gags like Family Guy. However, there are some really quality new episodes.

Yeah, I don't really see Iain's point at all - some of the most recent episodes are sterling!
But then he is a glam queen now, so who can really trust his taste

South park was good when it was completely, utterly random and childish!
The recent eps I've seen are far too politically based to make it funny!
It's all about Monkey Dust anyway!!

Bollocks!
If something is intended to be funny yet isn't, like The Simpsons of 'recent' years that I'm not going to praise it as the best thing since Ace Frehley. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves. You might as well fuck off and watch Friends like common idiots.
I'm not a Glam queen at all, I'm just fucking sick of immature angry German Thrash Metal. I mean, I just realised about two months ago that I've been listening to total shite for about 5 years now. I'm sick of listening to repetitive and uninspired Thrash Metal, I want to listen to good guitar music again.
I mean, feel free to rate stuff without even entertaining the possibility that it might be total shite. However, I cannot be ringed with that.
I'm finally starting to realise that Martin C has been pretty correct all along.

I don't agree at all!
In fact, I find Series 7-10 some of the most side-splitting stuff they've produced. The more "random childish" stuff is ok for a few watches, like a talking poo and things like that, but the newer episodes are clever, relevant and amazingly funny.
Also, the characters have gad a chance to become refined to perfection. The character I am really talking about here is the greatest character ever: CARTMAN. Modern Cartman is many times funnier than his early incarnation.

I always knew you were bright Iain. You put on your spandex pants and I'll put on my puffer jacket and we'll rule this board like Kings.

How the fuck is dressing up like a 3rd rate prostitute and playing cheesey mediocre guitar solos mature?
