I use the traditional 'Rocker' style (up/down).

Seeing as I still have fairly short hair I don't headbang as much as I did when my hair was a bit longer back in '04. SO need to let my hair go to my elbows this time round a la Lee Altus.

I would say the windmill but that fucking hurts if you do it to much, id say a Tom Araya style side to side. then again the old updown is good too!

I guess its based on how much im feeling the tunes and how big a bangover I want to endure the next morning!

I agree. I save my best headbanging moves for when I see bands I really like e.g. when I saw Destruction. I remember the first gig I went to, the following day I was in bed until 6pm because I couldnt move my neck!

Windmill! It's just the most fucking fun!!!
...but variation is gold.

Really wonder how everyone seems to get neck problems from it...I never have any issues the next day.

Up/Down for me but i actually think that does the most damage. Not had long hair for yyyyeeeaaarrrs but if i did have it would be windmill a-go-go!!! Less stress on the neck and the old grey matter.

I dunno about the old up/down doing the most damage. The first time I saw Anthrax I went crowd surfing and ended up landing on my head. Never had a bangover worse than that!

That is different. Surfing and Stage diving by far do the most damage. I have already told you the story of when i fucked my back at the Sabbat/Xentrix gig when i stage dived and missed the punters who were supposed to catch me. Had to sit down for the whole of Sabbat's set

I'm increasingly finding myself having to sit down at gigs but that's just because I have 6 bellies.
