Related to this old thread---> viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5823 , I thought it might be a good idea if people and bands could put in links and a brief summary of UK Thrash bands. I keep forgetting who is still playing and which new bands I still need to look at. The previous band list, while definitely saturated, had its value. Maybe make a sticky thread and people can link their bands. Then it would be up to mods to delete any posts they consider innappropriate as we have had non-thrash bands trying to wedge their way in before.
Whatever, just a thought...

I was thinking this myself recently, it's nice to just click on a link and see a whole list of the bands that are out there at the moment. I think this definitely needs to be done, no idea why the old list was removed!

Awesome Idea \m/
Individual posts would get lost along the way, but a sticky of the current bands would be a useful reference for everyone!

Re: Band List
I think what we would need is a group of people to screen the submissions, maybe five or so. Speaking to Craig and James about the last one the other day that's what they said was the main problem.
I think basically a band would have to ask for a page, the moderators would view their material and if it cuts the mustard they are given a username and password where they can create a band profile page that they can modify and all that. Basically akin to EM, but just for the UK thrash bands.
It'll be a little bit of work to get running, but a good resource.
There also needs to be more people working on the front page's material. More interviews, more reviews, at the moment it's hardly relevant to current events. Again the people doing the band screening could be given access to creating and submitting articles.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Re: Band List
I fully support the idea - sounds a touch ambitious but I'd be willing to help out in any way that people can suggest.

Re: Band List
Yeah this sounds excellent, the main reason why the previous band pages were taken down is that it just became a huge alphabetical list of any UK band that was vaguely fast and 'metal'. With a decent group of moderators I'm sure it could work again.
I've been intending to revitalise the homepage content too, it's horribly out of date. If we can muster a reliable squad of writers then it will be an easy process to get some new stuff published.

Well I am more than game, I need stuff to do if I'm perfectly honest and still feel very passionately about the uk thrash scene.

Re: Band List
I would be happy to help too! I also need something to do, I tend to just go home from work and vegitate in front of the TV so something to do in the evenings would be nice!
Josh (origami kid) should have a shit load of interviews cause he was apparently(!!!) releasing a zine sometime last year but that never happened as for as I can tell. I think general interviews with some of the smaller thrash bands would be cool too, help get some bands more widely known etc.
Also on the front page it would be cool to have a bit of news on upcoming gigs and tours, I would certainly find that very useful and I'm sure a lot of other people would!

Re: Band List
Muted - still playing - still writing - the phantom EP will be recorded soon, promise! Also our old guitarist just rejoined... next gig is a headliner at the Old Blue Last in April...
www.myspace.com/mutedsound
I really want to play a gig with Mutant again... or maybe they think our names are a bit too similar.
And by the way, Muted 'conveys' alot to US coz it seems no matter what we do very few people listen.
This site is an exception, well some of the people anyway.
So to summarise;
Muted is a full 4-piece again
EP is fully written and rehearsed
Recording starts 3rd week in May
6 songs
3 bonus songs (2009 demo, as reviewed here on UKThrush, sorry, thrash
Decent gigs, no more popper soaked shit holes (I mean that in a metaphoric sense)
Everyone has a job now... woo and indeed hoo :/
I think these things are primarily important in music:
Rhythm, Melody, Emotional Depth.
If you remove any of these things then there's no point.
Good luck everyone, you'll be hearing alot more from us soon.
