What are people's views on Testament? To some people they seem to rank among their favourite bands, but other people view them as one of quite a large crowd of average thrash bands, good for the occasional track but not worth worshipping.

Where do you stand?

Not a big fan, alright for a listen every now and again but thats about it.

I've totally scunnered myself against the band because I listened to them like everyday when I was 16. I still really like some songs but there's others I can't stand e.g. the entire Practise What You Preach album.

I was also quite pissed off when they let Steve Smyth and Paul Bostaph go because they stood a better chance of putting out a good album with those two rather than Alex and Louie IMO. Like the alleged reunion line-up Anthrax album the new Testament album (haha, we've been waiting nearly 7 years now Axl Peterson) will be nothing to write home about.

They are ok, in my head they share the same space as bands like Evildead or Overkill. Good thrashers but not very original and lacking that special spark that bands like Exodus, Nuclear Assault and the big 4 bands had.

Testament are one of my all time favs, i mean, they do everything i ask of a band, i only like old stuff mind, nothing after the ritual really does anything for me coz i cannie hack death stuff in any form lol.but i mean, personally they have like one of ma favourite rythm players, my fav lead player and favourite vocals so its no wonder i rate them so high:)

They're one of my alltime favourite Thrash bands.

the first album is an absolute essential

What about all that ponsing around they do with acoustics on the The New Order?

Btw, they're playing Ireland soon I believe.

Best guitar work in a thrash band in my opinion. I'm gonna say Skolnick is that bit better than Friedman.

testament are awsome! chuck billy rates in the top 5 thrash, and later on death metal vocalists ever.
