Re: METAL MASSACRE FESTIVAL
Carcinate arevery thrashy, but modern sounding. The Beckoning Silence have a lot of 80's thrash influence but mixed with NWOBHM styles. Driven Apart are very thrash influenced (metallica/megadeth/pantera type stuff).

Ramesses are great. But the rest of that festival is awful. Bad play.

How come man? I think there's some top bands playing but it's good to get feedback like this cos it'll give us something to consider when booking bands for the next one.

Its hard enough to get people to come to shows, its not a very thrilling lineup for what you may of paid the headliners you could of got a proper tour package.
Best band on there is Bison Hammer.
Minus Charger of course.

I agree the line up isnt the best, but having said that, i havent heard most of the bands on it. I discovered a few great bands going to gigs that i didnt previously know, and its not as if its expensive to get into is it, 18 bands for a tenner. However, bolton is too far away so i wont be going, but if you are nearby, i cant really hurt can it???
have to say, i dont like the "split across 2 venues" idea though.

Re: METAL MASSACRE FESTIVAL
fair play guys... although the venues are literally like walking out of manchester oxford road and into the salisbury sort of distance. there's a lot of support for the event locally and we are hoping to attract many folk from outside bolton to come to our events so all this helps a lot for future, cheers.

Just letting everyone know that there are a few tickets left at £10.00, available from the Alma Inn or Booth's Music in Bolton Town Centre. After they have gone, they're about £12.00 online and £15.00 on the door (if any are left).
To get a ticket for a tenner, please contact Bolton Metal Alliance via boltonmetal@Yahoo.co.uk
Cheers.

I agree!
Don't put the guy down for trying to promote a show he's obviously put a lot of work into. It's probably not my cuppa tea either and I won't be going but I'm not gonna shit on it.

Re: METAL MASSACRE FESTIVAL
Colin (metal alliance) is a good guy and an enthusiastic promoter. I've played loads of gigs he has promoted and it's always been a pleasure as he is actually into the bands he puts on so he's always down the front loving it. This event is growing every year, and although I'm not into any of the headliners either it's good to see some bigger bands from outside the town playing.
It's also nice to see a grown up who can take a bit of negative feedback unlike all those shit bands who throw a strop when you say you don't like them!
