Kranked Promotions is psyched to be staging SOILENT GREEN on May 15th at Eddie's Rock Club (Gough St, B1) from 7pm.

SOILENT GREEN are Louisiana's 'other' sludge supergroup (Down being the other, of course) consisting of members of Goatwhore, EyeHateGod, and Crowbar. Their sound is a fusion of bayou influenced grind-core that is intentionally crafted to challenge the listener with a barrage of ever-changing riffs and tempos along with intense lyrical delivery. Watch-out for the occasional delta blues breaks!!

Their last release on Metal Blade Records, 'Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Reason' (2008) led Rolling Stone magazine to cite them as one of the top 25 most influential bands in Metal Music. Full stop. One listen to their tracks, such as Antioxidant, Sewn Mouth Secrets, and Later Days (amongst so many others) will make you understand why!

These guys have seen it all - murders, hurricanes, substance abuses - all while projecting some of the heaviest metal ever created by humans. Their live shows have been nothing short of monumental, showing that they actually CAN deliver the complex frenzy of their songs!! Their performances at Hellfest in 2009 stole the show, and we're totally looking forward to bringing them to the Birthplace of Metal!!

Their UK tour is following on from their appearance at the notorious 'Roadburn' festival in Tilburg, Holland, and then a series of European dates. The UK dates will be supported by DRIPBACK, another supergroup (from London, this time) consisting of members of Ted Maul, Labrat, River Freshney, and Pure Negative. They have recorded their first EP for Siege of Armada records with Russ Russell (Napalm Death/Brujeria/Evile) at the helm on production duties. Early indications from this 5-piece are good!!!

Two local bands will complete the bill for the Birmingham date. First, we have local sludge-doom legends SALLY. Disbanded in 2003, the band has decided to reform to launch their sonar assault again. Their first reformed gig at Scruffy's was completely packed out, and for good reason. Riffs of wrecking ball proportions clobbered the audience all night! We are truly honoured to have them on this stage!!

And finally DAY OF THE CROW will kick things off. This Evesham 4-piece ,formed in 2008, delivers tracks of groove-laden riffs influenced by Pantera, Clutch and Lamb of God. Their members have played numerous Europe and US gigs in bands such as Rictus, Primate, and Stampin Ground, have played a series of shows around Worcestershire, and are putting the finishing touches on their album. They are now ready to ready to show Birmingham what they're made of!!

All this is going to be blasted through Eddie's Rock Club's 20kW PA system. No, really. Christ this gig is going to be heavy.

It's SOILENT GREEN's last performance on their tour before going home - so let's give them a send-off they'll never forget!!

For your convenience, we're considering the logistics of travelling in from the Midlands outer reaches in the timings for this show. We don't want anyone to miss out, 'cause this is going to be EPIC!!!
