As far as I know, you're all wrong, so shut up :D

The venue hasn't changed hands, and it isn't cancelled...

The venue for the gig may be being changed though, I believe.

And Martin, I'd like to see you try

Ok boys here's the score, the festival IS POSTPONED. And now for the reasons.... The venue has indeed changed hands, it's no longer run by metal folk but this leads me onto the next reason. When we played there with Rager etc the council had over a dozen complaints from local residents about what they deemed to be excessive volume and council officials arrived threatening to shut the gig down. Now, this was just one night so imagine the level of complaints we'd receive from an all day thrash festival with 10+ bands. It'd be ridiculous. Another reason is the in-house sound system is woefully inadequate despite re-assurances to me that it'd be upto scratch, this hasn't happened. The venue has also proven it's too small. This festival WILL happen but obviously i need to secure another more suitable venue, i'm looking into London and venues such as the Walthamstow Royal Standard, The Underworld, The Purple Turtle and a few others. There will be a gig on Sat 30th June at The Bar Monsta with Amok, Mutant, Let 'Em Burn and Hallowed Point all playing so please do come along to that as i believe Jamie is gonna co-promote it as one of his RAGE! nights, i'll also be in touch with the Turks to see if the Friday 29th gig with Let 'Em Burn, Rager and Hallowed Point is still taking place.
Again i'm really sorry about this postponement chaps and chapettes but it had to happen as it'd be a nightmare otherwise and would probably have been shut down within an hour. The cunts. :wall:

Have you contacted all the bands that were due to play?

This is the first Ive heard of anything being cancelled.

How come some bands knew that it wasnt going ahead?

Pitiful Reign have got non-refundable hotel rooms, booked and paid for in advance

on account of having to do around a 400 mile round trip

A message might have been nice...

Firstly the festival is postponed and not cancelled, it will take place eventually. I apologise if it's taken 'til now for me to post but i had to be sure that i had all the facts in place. A few people up here knew about it shortly before i posted about it because i was trying various avenues to find an alternative so i kinda had to mention it. I'm sure if you press the issue with the relevant people you must be able to get a refund on your rooms if not then i offer further apologies. Most of the bands on the bill either know about it or in a couple of cases have contacted me to say they had to withdraw from the line-up anyway.
