Any Blaze fans on here? I meen his solo work mainly, not his Maiden period (although that wasnt all bad...) But i recently got his latest solo album "the man who would not die" and it is actually dam good!

Any Blaze fans here? He is doing a full UK tour, playing in some fucking holes up and down the country, tickets are dirt cheap that i was def going anyway, just cause i know he wont pull a crowd due to lack of promotion but he is supposed to be really good!

Anyway i also have a interview with him lined up for the site i work for, so anything (sensible) you would like me to ask him, i can try put em in with my questions!?

I fucking love Blaze, I really do. He's a bloody lunatic, but he's just great. His solo albums, on the whole, have been pretty fantastic. I thought Blood & Belief was a pretty poor effort, but Silicon Messiah was a really good debut (the title track and Stare At The Sun are fucking brilliant songs), and The Tenth Dimension was a fucking awesome album! The Man Who Would Not Die is good, definitely better than Blood & Belief, but I don't think the songs are as memorable as they are on his first two albums. I've seen him live a couple of times, helped out doing the sound for him at the Bedford Park in Streatham last year (which is a complete shithole), and I just thought he was great. When you see him live you can just see the passion, he just loves his music, to be able to go from being in Iron Maiden to playing in fucking Streatham and still giving it everything you've got is a pretty cool thing to be able to do. I remember him saying on stage something along the lines of that the band just want to play anywhere right now to anyone who wants to see them, they don't care where it is. I thought that was quite cool, it's like his career got so fucked up after Blood & Belief came out, that he's willing to start again from the bottom and work his way back up. That shows integrity and passion, and even if he wasn't so great in Maiden (we all know that he just so clearly wasn't the right man for the job, what the hell was Steve Harris thinking!), I really admire him for that. It's also really sad what happened with his wife, and I remember reading on one of his blogs after she died that she once said to him, if she was gone she would want him to carry on with his music. So he is. Which is nice. Good man. I like Blaze.

I will probably be at the Underworld on 30th May, his shows are always really bloody good fun!

Oh and I have got the new album Josh, I downloaded it ages ago to see what it was like, and although on the whole I liked it (definitely more than I liked Blood & Belief), I didn't like it enough to buy the real thing. I do bloody love the title track though. I can't think of anything to ask him yet, I'll let you know if I do! Actually... maybe ask him if he listens to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and if he knows that the second track on their 'Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada EP' is named after him and features a bloke reading out slightly altered lyrics to Virus!
