"The schoolboy was tormented about his love of heavy metal, "thrash" metal and "emo" music."
We're all to blame. Although after reading the Daily Mail's awful article, it made no mention of everyone's favourite/least favourite genre.

I never knew emo was a style of hardcore punk, i just thought it was just folk crying about girls and shit whilst they played an acoustic. Hardcore punk indeed...

worst article ever
"whose fans wear dark clothes and have long hair" - so like several billions of other people
Bebo users who taunted Sam on his webpage have now left messages apologising for their conduct after his death last Thursday.
His friends have also put together a YouTube video that delivers a damning verdict on his tormentors.
Interspersed with photos are the words: "Bullying isn't cool, neither are bullies."
Mr. Toad, i can't...

Who actually reads newspapers any more? They're all biased tripe to some extent. I tend to use the BBC Website or Reuters if I'm interested in reading something topical, which is rarely.

Yeah, it is. Basically emo originated with bands like Embrace (Mackaye's band between Minor Threat and Fugazi) and Rites of Spring (who also included a future Fugazi member) and from there included Get-Up Kids and Drive Like Jehu. Now of course, it's all uber-poppy and not emotional music at all.
Most the 'emo' kids I work with are pretty happy and most the kids don't give a fuck. They did in my first place, it's a middle-class phenomenon from what I've seen. Make of that what you will...

Re: Daily Heil at it again
didnt some lad quit this forum a while back coz some forum members on here(not me by the way) said bullet for my valentine were/are considered shit?(although i do agree they are shit ) and took the piss(banter style)out of him.
im sure the lad made a whole thing about it when calling it a day with this forum as i vagurly remember a thread which pretty much ended up with everyone laughing about it all the more.
i dont think it was the kid in the article though.
if it was then i bet some of the harsher uk thrash hate cult members would be feeling pretty guilty.or knowing them, probably not
also how did the word "thrash" have anything to do with it?
what the fuck was thrash doing in the same article/sentences as words such as emo music, bullet for my valentine and my chemical romance?

Nah dude, I know that particular individual, I'm still unsure why he did that, it was a mixture of a rubbish trolling attempt and some tirade against metal or something.
And we're all really nice here anyway obviously.

Some kid commits suicide and all you're bothered about is that a tabloid newspaper used the word "thrash" in an article about him?
