Overrated Thrash
Moderators: James, Craig, Resilience Records
For me, very few bands who got past 1 or 2 albums managed to capture my attention throughout their careers, because after a few years they all seemed to want to move away from the initial thrash style and "expand as musicians" or "develop thier sound", this list includes MEGADETH, SLAYER, TESTAMENT, FORBIDDEN, ANNIHILATOR,SACRED REICH, DEATH ANGEL, VIO-LENCE, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, SODOM, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, HELLOWEEN, SEPULTURA, SARCOFAGO AND XENTRIX. Some just ran out of ideas and forgot to break up such as METALLICA, VENOM, TANKARD, EXCITER & KREATOR. Some bands went the same way but have redeemed themselves somewhat with reformation and later releases such as DESTRUCTION, ANTHRAX & EXODUS. Other bands always were shit like OVERKILL, AGENT STEEL, ACID REIGN, WARFARE & ZOETROUPE. Some others never released any poor product (so far) and deserve to be worshipped forever like DARK ANGEL, ONSLAUGHT, LAAZ ROCKIT, WHIPLASH & HIRAX. Any comments???

How can you not like Overkill?!!! Feel the fire is a thrash classic! You're right about most bands going downhill after a few records though, not many stand the test of time.

With the exception of 'endorama' or whatever that bollock-stew was called, Kreator's new material ranges from good, to awesome.
Helloween have made some fucking dodgy shit in their career's, enough dodgy shit to class them as a mediocre band, sadly.
And new Anthrax = gayfest
But generally, I agree (For the bands who's discographys I'm familiar with at least)

'Mort is a thrash purist, he only likes the demos normally, and even then will prefer a rough practice tape if one exists. Metallica sold out after Metal Massacre I.

I had an overkill Lp once. I think it was called under the influence. It sucked. I didn't dig the vocals at all....oh well

by "hate" do you mean you dont like their music or is there some other reason which would justify actually hating the band?
