Custom PC Builds Wanted

Postby Craig on Sun Aug 02, 2009 12:07 am

I did have a thread about this quite a few months ago, but I can't be arsed dredging through this forum to find it, so I'm making another one.

Basically: does anyone want (or indeed need) a new PC built for them? I wouldn't actually charge for building it, the buyer would order the parts and have them delivered to me. I then stick all the parts together and post the finished box to the buyer. Lovely!

It doesn't necessarily have to be a high-end PC either, I can (most of the time) beat the likes of PC World etc when it comes to price and value and you'll end up with a completely tailored system with no silly extras or programs you don't need. I have some spares laying around at home so if you're really stuck for cash I can supply those for a discounted price.

If you are looking for a unique high-end build, then I know a few people in the PC customisation market so I could do full case spray-painting and modification as well as designing and fitting a complete watercooling loop. Obviously high-end PCs are more fun for me to build - especially if you want a watercooled and overclocked Core i7 rig - but I'm not really fussy, I'm just looking for something to do .

So, any takers? PM me if you'd want a custom quote - prices do change a bit but I always try to come in under-budget with a bit of wiggle-room :)

I'm interested, definately. I'll try and sort something out when I've got some money put together.
I don't know shit about PC's though, so you might have to recommend some good average priced parts for me!

That's pretty much the idea. You give me a price, I go off and find the parts, give you a list to order off various websites (I usually use a combination of eBuyer, Scan, Novatech and Dabs). You order the stuff and have it delivered to me, then I put it all together and send you the finished PC :)

Deadline-wise, I'm back off to university at the end of September, other than that I'm free any time :)

Craig i thought about this, might sound a bit mad but have you thought about sticking an ad up on craigslist (no pun) or Gumtree?

Or maybe just reaching out to a wider audience than us shitters?
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

It's not really something I want to advertise myself to do as such, I just want a few rigs to put together in my spare time because I'm bored. I can see what you mean though, but it would probably be too much hassle :)

The only other forum I'm an active member of is a watercooling and performance PC forum, so I doubt I can do anything those guys can't

Ok well that's fair enough, what i will say on my part is I'd personally be ok on doing everything besides watercooling. So the next time i do get some cash scurried away (I am going to be saving for a car as of next month though) for a comp i'll deffo get you over for some water sports (ohhhhhhhh matron etc)

I don't think I'd ever be comfortable having a water-cooled PC.

Too prang about things that could go wrong.
