Exodus re-recording Bonded By Blood, which isn't nice

Postby jonny_boy34 on Fri Jun 20, 2008 1:30 am

This is nice news, I really like this album, and might enjoy a lovely meaty modern production of it for some extra fun, much like Saxon's 'Heavy Metal Thunder' which is amazing.

EDIT: This is blaspheme, terrible and awful! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I don't think this is nice news!!! If it aint broke, dont fix it! I have never felt BBB is held back by the sound quality, and we can be bloody sure the nasty modern make-over it will get will only spell BAAAAAAD NEWS.

:(

Yeah this really isn't a good idea.

Rob Dukes completely ruins some of those BBB songs live, I can't see him doing any better in the studio.

I have no idea what Exodus are like now, so maybe it isn't good then. And yeah, it's true BBB doesn't have bad production, I just quite like the idea and will be interested indeed to see what it sounds like. Metallica should take some inspiration from this though and re-record AJFA, that would be marvellous for me.

Didn't it say they were getting different people to do vocals on it as well though, for an anniversary joy? Or were they talking about something else?

"While working on this, I have been securing the talent for the 25th anniversary version of it, the Paul Baloff trubute. Nine different singers. Can't name names right now, but people have been more than willing to participate."

Seperate. I'm all up for that tribute one though, that DOES sound nice. As long as Dukes is all but pushed out.

BBB's production sucked in 1984 and it definitely sucks today.

Re-record the guitars and drums and stick the old vocal tapes through one of todays wonder-machines and make it sound better.

thats not a bad idea!! They should do some bonus stuff too, like ender, impaler, die by his hand or whipping queen.

Pointless, completely pointless.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

In addition to a lot mentioned above, I'd just like to state that Holt has lost any shred of credibility he had left. He's gone back on himself yet again and chosen to do something he said they would never do. This is going to suck ring on so many counts. Re-recording an entire album is also taking the piss somewhat.

The production is besides the point; I can't think of many Thrash albums that couldn't have benefited from better production. At the end of the day, though, Exodus aren't Peter Gabriel. Good production doesn't really bode well for them.
