Haha, yeah I've seen that, and I've looked like that too!

I can do shitty standard 4/4 beats and a bit of double bass beats, but it's hard work. I only want to learn them so I can record real drums to my music instead of using shitty drum programs, but that'll take ages!

dude its worth it, and if your not enjoying it, then maybe you shouldnt play drums

Practice, practice, practice dude. Definitely get a metronome coz it'll help your playing no end, also if you master the basic rudiments everything else will fall into place with practice. If you find it boring jamming along to a metronome stick a pair of headphones on and jam along to AC/DC coz believe me Phil Rudd NEVER goes out of time. The fucker is like an atomic clock! After you can play that with ease step up and gradually build your playing. It takes time but it's well worth it.

learn from whom the bell tolls by metallica, then learn the whole justice album, thats how i learned, call lars a shit drummer but he fuckin aint, also get your rudiments in order, i learned coz i played in a pipe band, paradiddles and mammy daddies are the way forward, in terms of death metal drumming, blast beats suck boaby, learn jazz instead.
