New Ozzy album

Postby jonny_boy34 on Thu May 17, 2007 12:05 am

Good day. If you like, you can listen to the new Ozzy album 'Black Rain' at http://entertainment1.sympatico.msn.ca/ ... zyOsbourne

I think it's really quite shit to be honest. Though I've got to say I wasn't expecting that much anyway, I'm not really the biggest fan of Ozzy's solo career. This album's just so bloody boring though! There are hints of goodness here and there, some of the riffs are pretty, well, okay. And 11 Silver's pretty good. But that's about it. Here For You is another Dreamer-style horrible ballad. Errrggh, it's really horrible. Ozzy's voice sounds so lifeless on it aswell. What a shame.

What do you all make of this?

I've only listened to three songs so far and already it's a massive improvement on Down to Earth.
The title track is excellent.

Trap Door had better be about what i think it is.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Well, I've given a few tracks a listen now. Certainly sounds better than down to earth, but that's not hard.

I can't be bother to listen to anymore tracks, but I'll say this... it's not as bad as I thought.

I still can't believe I'm gonna see him live. I can't be bloody bothered!

I suppose when you compare it to something like the new Linkin Park stuff for example (which I didn't listen to out of choice I assure you, they just invaded channel 4 when my housemates were watching tv the other night), then it's not exactly 'shit'. It's just when you think about Ozzy's legacy and that this is what it's come to, it really disappoints me. It's no surprise obviously, but it's still disappointing every time I'm reminded of what a cash-cow Sharon has made him into. I wonder if he even realises it. It's just such a soulless, lifeless album. By-the-numbers below-average monotonous Zakk Wylde riffage, monotonous singing from Ozzy, and that's about it unfortunately. It doesn't make me into a bile of rage like the new Megadeth album does, it just sends me to sleep immediately, which is still very upsetting when it's someone as great as Ozzy.

Oh well. I'll just listen to Sign of the Southern Cross and wank off to Dio's superb voice instead.

Listened to the whole album through a few times now and to my ears it's more of a successor to Ozzmosis, rather than No More Tears (which the Oz claims it is). It's nowhere near as good as that album but it's annnoyingly addictive. I hated Don't wanna Stop the first two or three times I heard it, now it's stuck in my head.
Trap Door is rapidly becoming one of my favourite (recent) Ozzy tunes. Hopes he gives it an airing at the NIA.

I thought you thought Trap Door was about anal sex. What oes that say about me?

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

Yes he has. He's always said that the thought of a cock up a bum is not for him.
