Gay.
If I were to 'sign' this, then shite Death Metal bands could continue to play live.

Signed, it's pretty important that.
Those noise restrictors are Terrible. The decibel cut off level is about the same as a drum kit with no mics.
Pass it around if you can folks.

Does anyone have any links to new regulations. I can't find any reference to it online.

I remember playing a show in a really small venue, and they had one, and we were playing about as loud as you would in your bedroom. Headbanging felt like a crime to music at that low a level.

I've been on the phone to DEFRA and Camden council and I can't get any official response to this. Basically it seems no one knows about it. That doesn't mean it's not true I just can't get past the bureaucracy at the moment. I'll keep trying. If this is being considered then we should start an official campaign. This would basically kill metal.

That's mint of you, saves us looking silly if it's not an official law coming into place. There was a petition against building a super-mosque in london once and it got 500,000 sigs. Tuns out it was never gonna happen and someone just fancied a brown people smear campaign.

Re: UK Music Venues - NO NOISE CONTROL Petition
it's on the downing street petitions site. I've heard of petitions being made on there that weren't genuine etc, and they were taken down pretty swiftly. So it must have some.............i dont know the word

Shit, I know the word you mean, but I just can't think of it... I hate it when that happens!
Anyway, I smell a fish/rat/other smelly animal here. There aren't any proper details about this legislation, and it seems completely ridiculous. Who knows why people make things up, maybe someone's just got their info wrong and went mad and started this thing. I could be real, but I'm sceptical about these things.
Good on you Dazza for trying to find out the truth, hope you get somewhere!
