I've not used EMG's.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

I'm sure EMG, DiMarzio and Seymour all make good pick-ups. I've only ever used Seymour Duncans: I'm a Duncan Distortion devotee but will probably try a DiMarzio Super Distion, Super 3 or Tone Zone in the next guitar I get. Like everything to do with guitars, you get complete snobs when it comes to pick-ups I suppose.

Use them all and don't be a fucking idiot. They're all good at what they do, and what they do is not the same.

Though I have heard the workmanship on DiMarzios can be shoddy.

i used to have the stock pickups on me gibson explorer and the rythm sounded shit and the solo tone was amazing, got emgs and the rythm was amazing but the soloing was shit tone, then i returned them and got seymour duncan blackouts and they had amazing tone both on the high notes and low end notes

When i tried them I really didn't like them, they seemed to have little bottom end and a certain fizzyness in order to provide higher sustain. I suppose it's not a bad thing if you only want to use it to play shreddy leads, not a great all rounder.

Bare Knuckle Pickups > Any other pickup

Seriously - do a google search and drop the guy a ring, tell him what you're after, you won't be disappointed.
