to be honest im a HUGE slayer fan and i'd say that this isn't the worst i've heard from them, i thought Christ Illusion was awful.
the production on the song is crap but thats not what its going to sound like on the CD its because this has been mixed/mastered for MP3 and we (should) all know that MP3 is shit!!
i think you can only be really critical once the album is released!

First off, the production isn't suddenly going to get better because it's on CD unfortunately. Bad quality mp3s are shit, sure, but you can still tell if the song has good production or not, it doesn't make that much of a difference. Remember Death Magnetic? Yes, I believe you'll all remember that one. And strangely enough, the production of this song sounds really, really similar to that of Metallica's latest. This engineer needs to be sacked, and Rubin needs to get his arse in gear and actually do what his job title requires of him.

Secondly, yes, this song is bollocks. The riffs are SHIT. It sounds like any generic rubbish thrash band that have just formed or something. In my opinion, it only sounds like Slayer because it's Tom Araya singing. And it's probably worse than anything off God Hates Us All. Definitely as average as Christ Illusion.

Average, average, average. Not that I'd expect anything else from Slayer these days.

That's not me trying to be cool either, that's my honest opinion, and listening to it in the context of an album filled with similar boring tracks (which is my assumption that could be wrong but probably isn't) isn't going to suddenly make me think "Oh, all the tracks sound the same, this is really good now!". A bad song is a bad song, no matter the bloody context.

This is really, really bad. Its still better than some of the wank on Diabolus in Musica but for fuck's sake....

I'll probably buy the abum anyway since I own nearly every other Slayer record there is, but judging from this it'll only get played on extremely rare occasions. Extremely disappointed with this.

Ok well the production is terrible - are we all 100% sure that this isnt a demo track or not a final master? I cant imagine they would have been happy with this, especially as they have always had a very full and heavy sound while this sounds empty and tinny.

The riffs dont sound that great, infact i will agree that this ONLY sounds like slayer because Tom Araya is sounding as awesome as usual. That just sounds like it is begging to be sped up or played a little harder...i dunno

As the outspoken anti-fan of Slayer i can't imagine this being any good what so ever really. I'll give it a blast when my mother isn't watching Corrie (yeah shit excuse), but unless they've gone back to Show No Mercy's way of doing things it's not likely anything for me.

i can understand why people getting very emotional here as slayer is one of alot of you guys fav bands. i actually thought christ illusion was a good listen and this is a huge step down from that album in every way as far as production and actual song writing is concerned. though i was extrememly dissapointed with my first slayer concert and the second one i bet this would be a nice live mosh along for all those skinhead hardcore dancing ''slaaayyyyererrrr!!'' fans. the song could be alot worse but i dont think the whole album should be judged on this cause though psychopathy red aint amazing its alot better than this song.

anyway when this comes out i wont give it much of a listen anyway and try to put more effort towards discovering good new bands rather concentrating on how bad old legendary bands new songs are.

i fucking LOVE slayer, Hell Awaits is still pretty much my fave thrash album of all time, and i havent really liked anything they did after 1993... they're just trying to be the old style and playing something so predictable when they could probably write decent songs is just annoying! I mean, theres like 3 riffs in that entire song and they are just soooooooooo standard it's unbelievable!
