The only 2 there that can even be compared against RIB are Eternal Nightmare and Bonded By Blood. The New Order isn't even Testament's best album. Peace Sells is a great album but hardly defines thrash. Release From Agony ? Eternal Devastation is better. Coma Of Souls is nothing compared to Pleasure To Kill. Come on - let's be serious.
I'm no Slayer fanboy - half their catalog bores the shit out of me. But RIB is a classic.

Dave, you're clearly gay because you don't like Reign in Blood, and we don't like gays round here. Metal is for pure men only. Get out.

Thrasher Dave you have made some crazily outlandish statements in this thread. While I accept that it is overrated, mainly because of the points others have raised (ie. more extreme albums coming out) and that I think that lots of great thrash albums get over-looked by fairweather thrashers because they think Reign in Blood IS thrash, there is no way it can be disliked. That's like calling it a shit album and that's ludicrous for thrashers. In fact, you did call it crap and that is ludicrous.

Maybe it needs to be taken down a peg or two but it shouldn't just be called shit and be dismissed. It also undersells what that album did (as some of the older guard have testified).

Incidentally, it would go in my top 5 pure thrash albums along with Eternal Nightmare, Bonded by Blood and Kill em All. Not sure what my fifth would be. Possibly, Pleasure to Kill.

Good job I didn't voice my opinions on Master of Puppets then. I'd probably get violated with a wine bottle by everyone on here.

I don't like Reign in Blood that much, deal with it you fannies.

you gotta remember that Tom has just gone through some seriously strenuous back surgery and is getting on a bit. I would love to have seen the band back in the day, I think the reson they got so big was because they were literally the most extreme band on the planet back in the day.

I will always respect em for what they've done and they are a huge influence on my playing and Shrapnel, I also personally don't think they have released a bad album, the first 3-4 are far superior but they are all obviously slayer which i love

i wouldn't say shit but deffinetly at the bottom. A couple of demon stomping riffs but not no where near as good as the rest.

Probably repeating a lot here (or not?), but I can't be arsed to read it.

Slayer are just Slayer.

A band once young, that had the hunger and the aggression, that absolutely KILLED it with the first few albums, probably just playing and recording albums for the sake of it / to satisfy a label deal - and why not - retire and become geography teachers?
