Any comments on the upcoming festivals next year??
I have already done a thread for Hammerfest, which looks like its gonna be great. Bloodstock looks good too, but what about the major festivals???
I am gonna be under serious pressure to take my kids and my daughters eldest 2 to download even though i said i wouldnt go again as they loves both SOAD and Avenged shittenfold!!! They also all like slipknot so maybe sonisphere could be on the cards again, however, the cost for 6 of us is way beyond what i could afford, and they class kids as 12+!!! pfft!!!!

Keep it True, Muskelrock and Roadburn if i can.
Which is quite a lot considering i don't have a job, hahah
Also Soad don't deserve the bad wrap they get, out of all of the "nu" metal bands they were easily the best.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Roadburn's first lot of tickets sold out in 20 minutes! I'm hoping to get to this motherfucker as well but it seems a bit of a long shot. Hammerfest looks good but it's timing looked a bit difficult for me. So, besides Roadburn, I'm hoping to get to Hellfest, the Rebellion punk festival and possibly Obscene Extreme as well - if I can find anyone else to go with or if I decide to go by myself.
Mainstream festivals are too expensive. They're ridiculous. The only one I'd consider is Glastonbury and I would be going solely for the atmosphere, with perhaps a handful of bands there that I'd consider worth seeing. I have seen SOAD and Slipknot both at Reading Festivals. Slipknot were on surprsingly good form and I was a big System fan at the time of seeing them. Considering SOAD are recently reformed, you'd hope this would mean some newly injected energy...

Re: Festivals 2011
I was just checking out the Roadburn line-up so far, and it didn't wow me too much until: Candlemass
(celebrating 25 years of doom, including “Epicus Doomicus Metallicus” in its entirety; featuring original vocalist Johan Längquist)
I really want to see that! Hammer of Doom sounds at least as amazing though: http://truecultheavymetal.com/blog1.php ... d-solstice
I am also going to Keep It True, and I'd quite like to go to Hell's Pleasure too.
BUT - Immortal and Morbid Angel are playing Bloodstock next year, which might finally tempt me to go!

What about Pentagram playing Roadburn, James?

Yeah I know, they're playing Hammer of Doom as well though, and the rest of the Roadburn line-up isn't as good yet imo.

Because you're a purist, there are bands on that line up that literally make me wank my eyes off. I mean, Earth, Acid King, Blood Ceremony, Count Raven, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, Yob and Yakuza. It's very rare that there's a festival where I actually want to watch the bands!
Chris, it's all about the last minute ticket grabs, last year it was a toss up between me going to Muskelrock (I saw Evil, haha. It's actually brilliant though, it's like being at Metalbrew but everyone is swedish and there were a billion women, which for once worked in my favour hahaha) and Roadburn, luckily for me i chose Muskelrock because the day I would have flew out the Volcano blew it's load.
But in all truth the last minute tickets were not even that much, maybe £20-30 over retail. Which considering how much i've paid on ebay for shit before was a breeze.

Re: Festivals 2011
I am working Roadburn, and planning to go to Hellfest and Bloodstock.
No Maryland Death Fest for me this year unless my financial situation gets better, I am extremely dissapointed as I have been to America every year since it has started.
However it may give me a chance to go to that DIY Crust Fest in London that I miss every year I think its called Scum Fest
Chris I would be up for going to OE depending on the lineup.
