I play drums, I play with a double bass pedal (Powershifter Eliminator) and I can do double bass but I play doubles on each foot, where the first beat is played with the heel and the second with the toes. It's pretty good but I just don't think it sounds as good as plain old singles played proper fast. The proplem is I can't seem to do it very fast, and if I do I can't keep them even.
So was just wondering if anyone could possibly give me some tips on how to do it well? It would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance!
Double Bass helps...

"heel toeing" is a good way of playing the really high tempo stuff, but it takes a serious amout of work to really get it even and even then you are probably still going to want a triggered bass drum to get a nice sound from it.
As for single strokes the only thing i can say is practice practice practice. As with anything slow right down and play with a metronome slowly increasing tempo. check out http://www.georgekollias.com go to the education section, he has a 16week bass drum speed/control program. Im working through it at the moment and it seems to be helping. also theres plenty of advice in the forums there and at http://www.derekroddy.com/forum/index.php.
just keep plugging away at it, good luck!

you have to push down on one pedal with onew foot (eg, the right), then lift it up, then push down on the other pedal with your other (left) foot, then repeat for a while

What really helped me was doing a lot of mountain biking - sort of sets the rhythm of the legs - a lot of good double bass players ride bikes - Neil Peart, Lars Ulrich, Tommy Aldridge etc - plus it keeps you fit enough to do it!!
