What do you think's in it? It doesn't have the ingredients written on the tub. It's probably just something you could buy at ASDA for about 17p but cleverly re-branded for guitarists.

Iain try the picks I use. If you like Tortex you'll like these.

Wedges?

I've never seen them. To be honest, I think most guitarists use the 0.88 or 1.00mm Tortex picks so I've just got used to them without ever considering how many alternatives there are. At the same time, picks are picks. If you can't play guitar, Jazz IIIs will do fuck all to help you.

I got a wedge when i bought faraz's guitar and it's not too bad at all, not enough flex for my personal tastes though.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

That guitar was set up with 9's tho ya see!

With 10's, for me, they're ideal!

Fast Fret is basically just mineral oil. I think it's got some other cack in it aswell but i don't know... I hate the bloody stuff!

Ooh fast fret I can't stand the stuff, it's evil. I love applying lemon oil just to smell it though, it's bloody lovely.

I use quite a lot of both. As long as you let the stuff dry in, it's fine. I just hate strings when they have half your hand left on them. Honestly, when I play someone else's guitar and tell me they haven't changed their strings in about two months, I feel borderline sick.

Hahaha! I don't think I've changed my strings for a while. They're definately due a change.

The longest I think I've gone without changing them is about 10 months because i didn't have a job. It was like playing with fuckin' washing line! Ugh! Not good.

hahaha washing line. I'm completely poor, I don't have a penny. But now i'm doing a music course it's a perfect excuse to get my mom to buy me new strings ;). No one wants to employ me, i'm just to thrash for them.

Some people...

Idiocy.

It does prolong the life of a set of strings though. Better to have that stuff on your strings than skin and sweat.

I change mine about every three months, i use fast fret on them after playing.

I'd change more often, but i don't mind old strings that much to be honest.

Unless they are totally rotten of course.

I am currently using a Pro Tools plectrum I nabbed off Bill a while ago.
